A service, a set of tyres, a clutch. Some of that is paid by card at the counter. Some of it is a deposit before the car comes in.

Since 1 October 2026 you can't add a surcharge on eftpos, Visa or Mastercard. The fee on an $1,800 job comes off the labour, not the customer's bill.

How it works for mechanics

What we look at for mechanics

Big jobs earn big points: An $1,800 clutch on a credit card is 0.95%, and it earns Velocity points: 1 point per $25.
Small payments stay small: A $40 part paid on eftpos is 0.95%, the same as every other card.
Deposits and phone payments: A lot of workshop money is taken before the customer is at the counter. Phone payments and deposits use the same rates.
Fleet cards and American Express: Fleet Visa and Mastercard cards are 0.95%. American Express is optional at 1.65%, only if you want to take it.
Workshop software: If the terminal has to talk to your workshop software, FairPayments (Nuvei Preferred Partner) connects through Linkly. Ask us and we'll check yours.
